The Dhami government is gearing up to present the Uttarakhand Budget 2025 in the second half of February. Finance Secretary Dilip Jawalkar confirmed that proposals for the 2025-26 financial year have been received from all departments and are under review. The state budget will be finalized after the Union Budget is presented on February 1.
Current Budget Progress
Jawalkar stated that ₹40,000 crore has been spent under the current budget, including ₹6,000 crore in capital expenditure, reflecting an 8% increase compared to last year. Spending is expected to rise further during the final quarter.
Budget Preparations and Expectations
The state government plans to align its schemes with signals from the Union Budget. Noteworthy revenue gains have been reported in GST, VAT, and mining, but shortfalls remain in contributions from the Forest Department, UPCL, and other corporations.
