Rudrapur, 27 Oct: Former President Ram Nath Kovind arrived at Pantnagar Airport here today on a four-day tour of the Kumaon region. Elaborate security arrangements were made at the airport to ensure a smooth visit of the former President. Administrative officials and public representatives extended a warm welcome to the former President on his arrival. After a brief stop at the GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, he departed for Kainchi Dham, the first destination of his visit.
Tight security was maintained at Pantnagar Airport and along the route, with the police personnel deployed in large numbers. Following a short rest and lunch at the GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Kovind proceeded towards Kainchi Dham. The district administration had implemented traffic diversions and made all necessary preparations in advance to facilitate a smooth movement of the convoy and ensure public convenience.
As per the schedule, the former President will spend four days in Kumaon. After offering prayers at Baba Neem Karoli’s shrine in Kainchi Dham he proceeded to Nainital, where he will stay overnight at the Raj Bhawan there. Tomorrow, he is scheduled to visit Dwarahat in Almora district. He will again stay overnight at Raj Bhawan, Nainital, tomorrow before departing for Delhi from Pantnagar Airport on 30 October.
It may be recalled that Kainchi Dham holds immense spiritual significance and attracts thousands of devotees and foreign visitors each year from countries such as the United States, France, and the United Kingdom.
