A new heli service will start from Pithoragarh to Munsiyari and Dharchula under the UDAN scheme from October 1. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has given approval, and Heritage Aviation will operate the service. Preparations for the launch are already underway.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had earlier requested Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu to expand heli connectivity in Uttarakhand. Following this, the ministry entrusted Heritage Aviation with operating flights on the Pithoragarh–Munsiyari–Dharchula route.
Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) CEO Ashish Chauhan confirmed the commencement of the service from October 1. The heli service is expected to boost tourism in the border district and provide better air connectivity to local residents.
