The State Health Authority has proposed a ₹10,000 application fee and a ₹2 lakh bank guarantee for private hospitals listed under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. The proposal has been sent to the state government for approval.
Current Status of Ayushman Scheme in Uttarakhand
- 300 hospitals are listed, including 101 government and 199 private hospitals.
- Patients receive free treatment, with costs covered by the government.
- Until now, no application fee or bank guarantee was required for hospital registration.
Reason for New Regulations
- Other states already follow a fee and guarantee system.
- To prevent fraudulent claims, the authority has rejected 88,629 claims, saving ₹180 crore.
- An additional ₹176 crore was cut due to irregularities.
The new rules will be implemented once the proposal receives final approval.
