Karan Mahara Pays Tribute to Uttarakhand Statehood Martyrs at Rampur Tiraha

Muzaffarnagar: Uttarakhand Congress President Karan Mahara visited Rampur Tiraha to pay homage to the martyrs of the Uttarakhand statehood movement. Remembering their supreme sacrifice, he offered floral tributes and expressed deep respect for those who laid down their lives for the creation of the state.

Mahara also garlanded the statue of Pandit Mahavir Sharma, who had extended help to hundreds of statehood activists during the 1994 movement. He said that the dedication and selfless service of people like Pandit Sharma played a vital role in the formation of Uttarakhand.

During the visit, Mahara met Pandit Sharma’s son and grandson, recalling their family’s contribution to the movement. Several senior Congress leaders including AICC member Brahmaswaroop Brahmachari, Senior Pradesh Vice President Dhirendra Pratap Singh, Pradesh General Secretary Virendra Pokhriyal, party MLAs, district and city presidents, and many workers were present on the occasion.

Speaking at the event, Mahara said that Rampur Tiraha is a living reminder of Uttarakhand’s struggle and sacrifice. “The sacrifices made by the brave sons of our state will always inspire us. Building the Uttarakhand they dreamed of will be our true tribute,” he said.
