Dehradun: Ahead of the upcoming local body elections, the Congress party has unveiled a list of 40 prominent leaders who will serve as star campaigners. The list, released by the Pradesh Congress Committee, includes influential figures such as State President Karan Mahara, Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, and Former State President Pritam Singh.
Other key leaders enlisted for campaigning include Ganesh Godiyal, MP Satpal Brahmachari, MLA Qazi Nizamuddin, Harak Singh Rawat, Prakash Joshi, Bhuvan Kapri, Shurveer Singh Sajwan, and Madan Bisht, among others. Former legislators like Ranjeet Singh Rawat, Mahendra Pal, and Pradeep Tamta have also been tasked with campaign responsibilities.
Additionally, leaders such as Navprabhat, Surendra Singh Negi, Heera Singh Bisht, Tilak Raj Behar, Mamta Rakesh, and Adesh Singh Chauhan are part of the strategy. Women Congress President Jyoti Rautela and youth leaders have also been mobilized to bolster the campaign.
The Congress has devised a comprehensive strategy to strengthen its presence and influence across municipal corporations, councils, and panchayats. This initiative is seen as a crucial step in positioning the party strongly in the upcoming elections.
