National Games: Health Department on Alert, 141 Teams Deployed

The health department has implemented extensive arrangements for the 38th National Games, scheduled from January 28 to February 14, 2025. A total of 141 health teams will remain on high alert to provide emergency services to athletes and guests. Ambulances and air ambulances are also on standby. According to Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, nodal officers have been deployed at the state and district levels, and temporary hospitals will operate in stadiums in Raipur and Haldwani.

Special Health Arrangements

  • Deployment of 150 doctors, 300 nursing staff, 25 physiotherapists, 30 pharmacists, and 50 ward boys.
  • Specialists in neurology, cardiology, head injuries, and spine injuries will be on-call 24/7 in district hospitals.
  • 115 ambulances equipped with essential medicines will be stationed.
  • Medical teams will be present at every game venue.

AIIMS Rishikesh Preparedness

AIIMS Rishikesh has reserved five trauma beds and provided specialized training to 50 doctors under capacity-building initiatives. Air ambulances will be ready for emergencies requiring airlifting.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that hosting the National Games is a moment of pride for the state, and ensuring top-notch healthcare for athletes and visitors is the government’s priority.
