New Charges in Uttarakhand Government Medical Colleges

The Uttarakhand government has implemented new treatment and diagnostic charges across state-run medical college hospitals. According to a government order issued by Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, the OPD registration fee is now ₹20, while IPD registration costs ₹50. These revised rates will remain in effect for the next three years before being reviewed.

Uniform Rates Across All Medical Colleges

Previously, medical colleges had different user charges, but the state has now standardized them.

Revenue for Infrastructure Development

Dr. Rajesh Kumar clarified that funds collected from these charges will be used to enhance patient facilities in medical colleges. Additionally, radiology and pathology tests such as X-ray, ultrasound, CT scan, MRI, and dialysis will now be conducted at CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme) rates.
