PM Modi’s Historic Visit to Kuwait After 43 Years

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Kuwait today, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the Gulf nation in 43 years. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the visit is at the invitation of Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. During the visit, PM Modi will meet Indian expatriates, visit a labor camp, and attend the opening ceremony of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup.

The Indian community in Kuwait has expressed great excitement about the visit. A cultural event titled Hala Modi, showcasing Indian traditions, will be held at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex, with preparations in full swing.

Rajpal Tyagi, a Pravasi Bharatiya Awardee, lauded PM Modi for fostering a unique identity for the Indian diaspora. He recalled PM Modi’s 2019 promise to visit Kuwait, which is now being fulfilled.
