The third day of the Shri Guru Ram Rai University Sports Festival 2025 witnessed thrilling contests across multiple sports, including cricket, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and basketball. The day belonged to the School of Nursing, which clinched victory in the girls’ basketball event by defeating the School of Management and Commerce Studies.
In the girls’ cricket final, the School of Basic and Applied Sciences emerged as champions after defeating the School of Nursing. The Nursing team batted first and set a target of 62 runs. Chasing the total, the School of Basic and Applied Sciences displayed a confident start, scoring 31 runs in the first three overs without losing a wicket. They went on to secure the win with four balls remaining and one wicket down, claiming the championship trophy.
In boys’ volleyball, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences outperformed the School of Basic and Applied Sciences with scores of 21–18 and 21–19. In table tennis, Anshika Rawat from the School of Basic and Applied Sciences defeated Babli Rawat of the School of Management in the girls’ singles final, while Vikhyat from the School of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences won the boys’ singles match against Chandra Bhan Singh from the School of Medical and Health Sciences.
The basketball events also saw intense competition, with the School of Humanities winning against the School of Engineering and Technology in the boys’ category. In badminton, Abhishek from the School of Engineering claimed victory over Tanishk from the School of Pharmacy in the boys’ singles match, while Naysa from the School of Basic and Applied Health Sciences defeated Priya from the School of Management in the girls’ singles final.
The inter-school events showcased outstanding athletic spirit and competitiveness among students, as SGRR University’s annual sports festival continued to celebrate teamwork, fitness, and excellence in sportsmanship.
