Shaurya Mahotsav Begins in Tharali: CM Dhami Pays Tribute to Martyrs

A three-day Shaurya Mahotsav commenced in Tharali, Chamoli, with floral tributes at the memorial of Amar Balidani Bhawani Datt Joshi. The event opened in a patriotic atmosphere as army personnel played ceremonial band tunes. A special tribute came from the Mundoli Riders Club, who cycled from Mundoli to Chepdo to honour the martyrs. Renowned runner Sarojini Kotedi from Dewal paid her respects with a 26-kilometre run dedicated to the fallen heroes.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri, and Tharali MLA Bhupalram Tamta also participated in the festivities. Speaking at the event, CM Dhami reiterated the state government’s commitment to the welfare of soldiers and their families. He emphasized that today’s India, shaped by its military strength, does not hesitate to strike back at terrorism even across borders. He added that unlike earlier times, the Indian Army is now equipped with modern gear and resources.

CM Dhami paid homage at the Bhawani Datt Joshi memorial and joined the Tiranga Yatra. During the Mahotsav, family members of martyrs and Veeranganas were honoured for their sacrifices.
