Following a shift in weather patterns, heavy snowfall was recorded in Dhanaulti, Chakrata, Buranskhanda, Nag Tibba, and Surkanda on Thursday. Light snowfall was also observed in higher-altitude areas of Lal Tibba and Char Dukan in Mussoorie, accompanied by rain, leading to a sharp drop in temperatures across the region.
Mussoorie experienced rain in the morning, with light snowfall in elevated areas, though it did not last long. While tourists and locals enjoyed the scenic snowfall, the increasing cold forced many to seek warmth around bonfires. However, heavy snowfall in Dhanaulti, Chakrata, and Buranskhanda blanketed trees, houses, and vehicles under a thick layer of snow.
The snowfall disrupted electricity supply in Buranskhanda, with local resident Suresh Kohli reporting a power outage at 8:30 AM. While supply was briefly restored at 3:20 PM, it was lost again within 10 minutes, causing inconvenience to residents and visitors.
