Dehradun: Under the directions of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, the Dehradun district administration and the Social Welfare Department are set to organize special camps across the Chakrata block for differently-abled individuals who do not yet possess disability certificates or Aadhaar cards. The survey for identifying such individuals was conducted through the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Chakrata.

The first camp will be held on 28 October 2025 at Kanasar Forest Department Ground, followed by another on 30 October at Government Inter College, Lakhamandal, and the final one on 3 November at the PWD Guest House, Tyuni. Each camp will have designated nodal officers, including the Assistant Development Officer (Panchayat), Regional Youth Welfare Officer, and Assistant Social Welfare Officer, respectively.

According to the survey, a total of 212 persons with disabilities were identified across the block — 84 from Chakrata, 41 from Lakhamandal, and 87 from Tyuni. The administration has arranged transport facilities to bring beneficiaries to the camps for medical examinations and issuance of disability certificates on-site. Experts from the Health Department and ALIMCO will assist in providing necessary assistive devices under the ADIP Scheme.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) has been instructed to ensure that all attendees receive their disability certificates during the camp itself. A daily report of certificates issued will be submitted by 5 p.m. The Social Welfare Officer will provide advance funds for setting up tents, seating arrangements, free photocopying, refreshments, and application assistance for pension and welfare schemes.
