Tirupati Stampede: CM Naidu Calls Review Meeting, Plans to Meet Victims’ Families

A tragic stampede occurred at the Tirumala Hills near the Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Andhra Pradesh ahead of the Vaikuntha Ekadashi celebrations. The incident claimed six lives and left around 40 devotees injured.

CM Naidu’s Response

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has called for an urgent review meeting to assess the situation. He plans to visit the site and meet with the families of the deceased.

Government’s Commitment

TDP spokesperson Prem Kumar Jain stated that strict measures are being implemented to prevent such incidents. According to temple authorities, one of the deceased was a woman from Tamil Nadu. The state government will provide compensation to the families of the deceased and ensure medical aid for the injured.

Lessons for the Future

Despite arrangements to manage the crowd, the unfortunate event highlighted gaps in crowd control. The government aims to strengthen safety protocols to avoid similar incidents in the future.
