The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttarakhand is expected to announce its new state president in the first week of March. The organizational election process, which was postponed due to municipal elections, has resumed. Selection of mandal and district presidents will be completed by February 28, followed by the announcement of the state president within a week.
Discussions are ongoing about whether the current state president, Mahendra Bhatt, will retain his position or a new face will be introduced. State General Secretary Aditya Kothari stated that mandal presidents will be finalized by February 20, and district presidents by February 28. Three observers per assembly constituency will consult senior local leaders and submit a three-name panel for each mandal by February 15.
A workshop will be held in Dehradun on February 9, where observers, district presidents, and state officials will discuss the election process.
