Preparations for the Uttarakhand Assembly’s budget session, starting on February 18, are complete. A total of 521 questions have been submitted by 30 legislators, setting the stage for intense debates. On Sunday, Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan held a high-level meeting with officials to ensure smooth proceedings and security arrangements.
The Speaker issued strict instructions to the district administration and police to ensure that school students appearing for board exams do not face any inconvenience due to traffic congestion. Schools will be provided with a traffic advisory for this purpose. Additionally, security measures will be tightened within the assembly premises.
For the first time, the session will be conducted under the National e-Vidhan Application (e-NEVA). To facilitate this transition, ITDA officials have been directed to deploy two engineers in the assembly for technical support. Internet connectivity will also be enhanced, with Wi-Fi access being extended throughout the assembly premises.
Strict Entry Regulations & Mobile Restrictions
- Vehicles without an entry pass will not be allowed into the assembly premises.
- Each legislator can recommend one visitor, while ministers can approve up to two visitors.
- Mobile phone usage will be prohibited during assembly proceedings to maintain decorum. Any essential mobile use must be done outside the session hall.
The Assembly Secretariat has received 521 questions from 30 legislators, indicating that the session will witness rigorous discussions on key issues.
