Uttarakhand Government Recognizes Polytechnic Diploma as Equivalent to Class 12

The Uttarakhand government has approved the recognition of a three-year polytechnic diploma as equivalent to a Class 12 qualification. This decision, passed during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, will lead to amendments in the Uttarakhand School Education Regulations.

Under this provision, students who have passed the high school examination and completed a three-year polytechnic diploma under the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education will now be considered equivalent to Class 12 (Intermediate) graduates of the Uttarakhand Board of School Education.

This decision is expected to benefit diploma holders seeking admission to undergraduate courses, providing them with broader educational opportunities. The amendment will be added as Clause 10 in Chapter 12 of the Uttarakhand School Education Regulations, 2009.
