Uttarakhand Minister Requests PMGSY Approval for New Roads

Uttarakhand’s Rural Development Minister Ganesh Joshi met Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Friday, requesting approval for new road projects under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). The minister emphasized the need for connecting new villages with roads as part of Phase IV of PMGSY and sought approval for the Detailed Project Report (DPR).

The minister also urged the Centre to approve the upgradation of 600 km of rural roads and 10 bridges under Phase III of PMGSY. He expressed gratitude to the Central Government for the recent approval of 2,288 km of rural roads, which will significantly boost connectivity in the state.

Highlighting the difficult terrain, strategic importance, and limited resources of Uttarakhand, Joshi underscored the importance of Phase IV approvals to improve rural connectivity. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan assured positive action on the requests.
