Uttarakhand is set to celebrate the 38th National Games as a grand public festival. A torch relay will commence on December 26 from Haldwani, traveling through all 13 districts of the state. Various events will be held in each district for two to three days. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will flag off the relay.
Sports Minister Rekha Arya shared this information during a meeting at the National Games Secretariat located at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. The relay will cover the Kumaon and Garhwal divisions, reaching several blocks to ensure maximum public participation.
Extensive Promotion Campaign for National Games
The Sports Minister instructed the Information Department Secretary and the Director General to intensify the promotion of the National Games. Campaigns will include television, newspapers, radio, social media, and news portals. Additionally, hoardings, banners, and posters will be displayed in municipal and urban areas to generate excitement.
Special Chief Secretary for Sports Amit Sinha, Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari, and other officials attended the meeting. Rekha Arya emphasized the government’s commitment to transforming the event into a public celebration to maximize participation.
