Leaders Express Condolences Over Uttarkashi Cloudburst, Rescue Operations in Full Swing

Several national leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressed grief over the devastation caused by a cloudburst in the Dharali area of Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. The disaster triggered flash floods and landslides, leading to widespread damage and multiple casualties.

PM Modi posted on X, “I express my condolences to those affected by this tragedy and pray for everyone’s safety. I have spoken with Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami and reviewed the situation. Under the supervision of the state government, relief and rescue teams are working tirelessly. No effort is being spared to provide help to those in need.”

Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami expressed deep sorrow over the incident, confirming that SDRF, NDRF, the district administration, and other emergency services have been deployed at a war footing. He added that he remains in constant communication with senior officials to ensure effective coordination of relief efforts.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also voiced his concern on X, stating, “The visuals of destruction caused by sudden flooding in Uttarkashi are deeply distressing. I pray for the well-being of those affected. The central and state governments are working together and taking every possible step to save precious lives.”

BJP National President JP Nadda expressed solidarity with the victims, saying, “In this hour of crisis, BJP workers in the state are providing all possible assistance to the victims. I extend my condolences to the affected families.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also posted his condolences, calling the incident “deeply saddening and worrying.” He wrote, “The loss of lives and reports of missing persons after the cloudburst in Dharali are heartbreaking. I urge the administration to accelerate relief and rescue operations. Congress workers are requested to cooperate with local authorities and provide all possible support to those affected.”
