With the snow now melting in the Valley of Flowers, vibrant blossoms have begun to bloom, signaling the arrival of spring in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The first images of blooming flowers have been captured by a Forest Department team during a recent visit to the valley.
The Valley of Flowers will officially open to tourists on June 1, and preparations by Nanda Devi National Park authorities are in full swing. A recent field inspection by the park administration revealed early blooms in some areas of the valley. According to officials, 10–15 species of flowers typically bloom in June, while hundreds of varieties appear during the monsoon season.
Forest Ranger Chetna Kandpal confirmed that early blooming has started with flowers like primula, allium, and wild rose. She added that this year’s heavy snowfall is likely to result in a rich and diverse floral display, enhancing the valley’s natural beauty.
