The Badrinath National Highway continues to face landslide risks near Nandprayag, with the Parthadip landslide zone between Sonla and Pipalkoti likely to create problems during the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. Despite partial safety measures taken by the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), the stretch remains vulnerable.

Officials have carried out protective work on around 60 meters of the affected stretch, but nearly 20 meters of the highway is still in poor condition. The situation is critical as debris continues to fall from the hillside above, while the Alaknanda River flows just below the road, increasing the risk.

While the 20-kilometre stretch from Maithana to Pipalkoti has become relatively smooth for travel, multiple نقاط including areas near Nandprayag market, Chamoli Chada, Chamoli market stretch, and Birhi Chada continue to witness traffic congestion due to incomplete hill cutting work under the all-weather road project.

At the Parthadip landslide zone, slope stabilization work is ongoing, but large amounts of debris are still present, which could worsen during the monsoon. Pine trees have also been uprooted and fallen along with landslide debris. Although retaining walls have been installed, the threat from the unstable hillside remains.

At Maithana, land subsidence issues are being addressed through soil filling, but the highway is still gradually shifting towards the Alaknanda River. Authorities expect blacktopping work to be completed before the pilgrimage begins.

In other areas, including Chhinka, Birhi, Kaudiya, Mayapur, and Gadora, road widening work has been largely completed, improving traffic flow. However, unfinished hill cutting at several نقاط remains a concern and could again lead to congestion and safety risks during peak travel.
