The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee is planning to install around 7-foot-high barricades around the Kedarnath Temple to improve arrangements and control movement in the temple area.
A proposal has been sent to the Garhwal Commissioner, highlighting the need for better security, smooth movement of devotees, and maintaining the sanctity of the temple. Once approved, the barricading work will begin. The plan aims to restrict unnecessary movement and allow only devotees entering for darshan through designated routes.
Despite strict rules, some people are still attempting to make reels inside the temple premises by ignoring restrictions. Authorities have already banned videography and reel-making, but violations are still being reported.
According to officials, around 15,000 pilgrims per day is considered manageable, but the current crowd is exceeding this capacity. This has led to long queues and increased pressure on basic facilities like accommodation and food, making crowd management a major challenge.

Chief Nodal Officer Kedarnath Rajan Nathani said the proposal has been sent for approval and work will start once clearance is received. He added that the barricades will help control unnecessary movement and activities inside the temple premises.
