After AAP’s defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, Chief Minister Atishi has resigned from her post. On Sunday, she submitted her resignation to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, who then issued a notification dissolving the assembly.
Atishi, who won from the Kalkaji constituency, defeated BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri by 3,521 votes. However, her victory provided little relief for AAP as key leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Satyendar Jain lost their seats. Expressing gratitude to the people of Kalkaji, Atishi acknowledged the party’s overall electoral setback.
