Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has reaffirmed his government’s firm stance against corruption, declaring a strict zero-tolerance policy. Speaking to the media, he encouraged citizens to report any official demanding bribes under the pretext of “it goes all the way to the top” by calling the state’s anti-corruption helpline at 1064. He assured full protection to whistleblowers.
Responding to allegations that only small offenders are targeted, the Chief Minister clarified that action has been taken even against high-ranking officials, including IFS officers. He pointed out that several individuals involved in cheating during government recruitment exams have been jailed under the Gangster Act.
Highlighting the government’s efforts toward transparency, Dhami emphasized the implementation of a tough anti-cheating ordinance. This, he said, has restored fairness in the recruitment process and helped thousands of youth secure government jobs on merit.
