A shocking case of negligence has surfaced at Haridwar District Hospital, where rats reportedly mutilated the body of a Dharamshala manager kept inside the hospital morgue. The incident triggered outrage among family members and locals, who staged a protest demanding strict action against responsible officials.

According to relatives, the body of 36-year-old Lakhan Sharma, also known as Lucky, was kept in the morgue on Friday night after his sudden death due to cardiac arrest. His post-mortem was scheduled for Saturday morning. However, when the family arrived for the procedure, they discovered deep injury marks on his face, head, and one eye.

Finding rats running inside the morgue area, the family immediately understood that the wounds were caused by rodents. They accused the hospital administration of severe negligence and failing to maintain basic cleanliness and security, leading to this horrifying situation.

Following the incident, Congress representatives reached the hospital and joined the protest outside the morgue, raising slogans against the health department. The family alleged that even during the chaos, no senior health official arrived at the scene for a long time, which intensified public anger. Protesters demanded the suspension of responsible employees, an immediate inquiry, and urgent improvements in morgue management.
