A 25-year-old man was seriously injured after being attacked by two bears in the Agra Khaal area of Tehri district on Tuesday morning. The incident took place under the Agra Khaal police outpost of Narendra Nagar police station limits.

According to local information, the victim, Vijendra, son of Prem Singh and a resident of Kaddu Khaal in Chald village, was heading towards Agra Khaal with a goat at around 9:30 am. During the journey, two bears suddenly attacked him in a forested stretch.

Despite the danger, Vijendra showed presence of mind and resisted the attack. Due to his strong build, he managed to grab one bear by the neck and push it away. However, the second bear then attacked him, causing deep injuries to his neck, shoulder, and back.

Hearing his screams, nearby villagers and his companions rushed to the spot. By the time they arrived, the bears had fled into the forest. With the help of locals, the injured man was shifted by ambulance to Shri Dev Suman Government Sub-District Hospital in Narendra Nagar.

Doctors at the hospital said that after treatment, Vijendra’s condition is stable and he is out of danger. Following information about the incident, Tehsildar Narendra Nagar Ayodhya Prasad Uniyal, Forest Range Officer Vivek Joshi, and Divisional Forest Officer Narendra Nagar Diganth Nayak reached the site to assess the situation.
