Preparations for the municipal elections in Uttarakhand have gained momentum as district magistrates issued the final reservation notifications for municipal corporations, municipal councils, and nagar panchayats late Sunday night. A seven-day window has been set for filing objections and resolving related issues.
Additionally, the Directorate has also released the final reservation notifications for mayoral and chairman positions.
For the first time, elections in all 102 municipal bodies across the state will be held on the same date. In 2018, elections in several municipal bodies, including Roorkee Municipal Corporation, were delayed, but their terms have now concluded.
