Bear Attacks Man Collecting Grass in Tehri, Suffers Head Injury

Woman injured in bear attack in Jaunsar-Bawar, villagers demand compensation

Incidents of bear attacks continue to be reported from Uttarakhand’s Tehri district. A fresh case has emerged from Saruna Kemer village, where a man was attacked by a bear while he had gone into the forest to collect grass. The victim sustained serious injuries in the attack and was admitted to hospital for treatment.

According to information, the injured has been identified as Tikaram Joshi. He was collecting grass in the forest when the bear suddenly attacked him. During the attack, he suffered a deep injury to his head and collapsed on the spot.

After receiving information, a team from the forest department reached the location and arranged for his immediate evacuation. Tikaram Joshi was taken to the hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. His condition is reported to be stable, but doctors are closely monitoring him.

Repeated incidents of bear attacks in rural and forest-adjacent areas have raised concerns among local residents. Villagers have demanded increased patrolling and preventive measures from the forest department to reduce the risk of human-wildlife conflict in the region.
