Haldwani: A shocking road accident near Bel Baba Temple on the Rudrapur–Haldwani state highway left a police constable critically injured after a dumper ran over his motorcycle.
The injured constable, identified as Pushkar Rautela, was posted at TP Nagar outpost and was returning from Forensic Science Laboratory after collecting a report when the accident occurred. According to initial information, the collision happened while attempting to overtake, leading to a severe impact.
Despite wearing a helmet, the constable sustained critical head injuries. He was immediately rushed to Dr. Sushila Tiwari Hospital, where doctors carried out an emergency operation. Due to the extent of damage, his right arm had to be completely amputated.
A team of doctors, including neurosurgeons, worked late into the night to stabilize his condition. Specialists from a private hospital were also called in to assist with the complex surgery. Hospital authorities confirmed that the patient suffered serious head trauma, with multiple skull injuries.
Senior Superintendent of Police Manjunath TC reached the hospital soon after the incident and reviewed the situation.

Doctors stated that the injured constable continues to require blood and remains under intensive care, with efforts ongoing to provide the best possible treatment.
