To ensure a smooth pilgrimage for devotees, the Indian Army and Gurudwara volunteers have launched a snow-clearing operation on the Hemkund Sahib route. A team of 25 army personnel and 18 sevadars from the Gurudwara began removing heavy snow from the trail starting Tuesday, after conducting an inspection from Ghangharia to Atalakoti. The operation had been delayed due to bad weather on Sunday and Monday.

Massive snow formations, as high as 20 feet and as wide as 200 meters, are blocking parts of the route. The upper sections of the trail remain heavily snow-covered as well. The shrine is scheduled to open for devotees on May 25, and efforts are underway to make the path accessible and safe before the pilgrimage begins.
