Following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, security agencies in Uttarakhand have intensified vigilance across key pilgrimage and tourist destinations. Ahead of the Char Dham Yatra set to begin on April 30, the state government has deployed additional security forces at religious sites, and intelligence agencies have been put on high alert.
Checkpoints at border areas, which remained active overnight, are continuing operations during the day. Police and intelligence teams have been instructed to closely monitor all inputs, regardless of scale. Along with the four main yatra routes, security has also been tightened in major tourist hubs like Dehradun, Mussoorie, Nainital, and Tehri.
Additional police personnel have been deployed in border districts, and coordination with neighboring states has been strengthened to ensure quick exchange of sensitive information. Security teams have also been directed to respond promptly to alerts received through social media and other channels.
