Kedarnath Dham Decorated with Flowers as Opening Day Nears, Yatra Preparations Intensify

Portals of Kedarnath Dham, Yamunotri to close today

Preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra have gathered pace at Kedarnath Dham, with the entire Kedarpuri area being beautifully decorated with flowers ahead of the temple opening.

The Panchmukhi idol procession (Utsav Doli) of Baba Kedarnath, which halted at Phata for an overnight stay, is set to reach Gaurikund today. The procession is moving steadily towards the shrine through its scheduled stops, drawing enthusiasm and devotion from pilgrims along the route.

Preparations for welcoming the Doli in Gaurikund have been completed. On April 21, the idol will reach Kedarnath Dham, and the temple doors will officially open for devotees on April 22 at 8 am, as per the auspicious timing.

According to Kedarnath Sabha senior member Pandit Umesh Chandra Posti, most arrangements related to the yatra have been finalized. Hotels and dharamshalas in Kedarpuri are being readied to accommodate pilgrims, with necessary facilities being put in place.

Authorities and the temple committee have also implemented special measures this year to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage experience, aiming to provide better services and crowd management for the large number of expected devotees.
