The doors of Kedarnath Dham will open for devotees on April 22 at 8 am in an auspicious ceremony, marking the formal beginning of the Char Dham Yatra. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will also be present at the shrine and participate in the पूजा-अर्चना during the opening rituals.
Ahead of the opening, Baba Kedarnath’s Doli has already departed from Gaurikund towards the temple. With this, the final phase of preparations has been completed.
The shrine has been decorated in a grand manner, and a large number of devotees from across the country and abroad have started arriving, reflecting high enthusiasm for the pilgrimage.
To ensure a smooth and safe yatra, the administration has strengthened arrangements including road repairs, traffic management, and facilities along the trekking route such as toilets, accommodation, food, and drinking water. Electricity and solar lighting have been installed across the route, and health centres have been set up at every two kilometres.
Additional facilities like modern toilets and hot water arrangements have also been provided for pilgrims. Police and administrative teams are fully deployed to maintain security and manage the crowd.
Devotees including Sher Singh from Rajasthan, Saurabh Kalra from Rishikesh, Dhruv from Dehradun, Pushpa Bisht and Narendra Bisht from Chamoli, and Sonali Negi from Pauri appreciated the arrangements made for the yatra.
Meanwhile, temple committee member Vineet Posti stated that the use of mobile phones has been completely banned inside the temple premises. Carrying phones, taking photos or videos, and recording reels inside the shrine are strictly prohibited, and violators will face legal action.
