Pahalgam Attack: CCS Meets at PM Residence Amid Terror Strike Concerns

In the wake of the deadly terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently chairing an emergency meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) at his official residence. The attack in South Kashmir left two dead and 21 injured, prompting swift action from the central government.

The meeting is being attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. PM Modi returned to Delhi from Srinagar and proceeded directly to the high-level meeting.

Sources indicate that the CCS is discussing a multi-pronged strategy to combat terrorism, reviewing the current security setup in Jammu and Kashmir, and exploring potential countermeasures. A strong response from the Centre is reportedly under consideration following the attack.
