Pantnagar University gets new Vice Chancellor, Prof Shivendra Kashyap appointed

 Prof Shivendra Kumar Kashyap has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. The order has been issued from Raj Bhavan.

The appointment has been made by Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd). Prof Kashyap will serve for a term of three years from the date he assumes charge, or until he attains the age of 70 years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

He is currently serving at the College of Agriculture in Pantnagar University and has been working as the chairman of the university’s ranking team since 2019.

Prof Kashyap is a well-known academician in the field of agricultural education and has received several honours, including the ICAR Best Teacher Award for his contribution to the sector.

During his career, he has held multiple key positions at the university, including Professor, Head of Agricultural Communication Department, Dean of the College of Agriculture, and Principal Investigator in World Bank-funded NAHEP and DST-TEC projects.

He was also selected for the national-level LEAP (Leadership in Education) programme by the Ministry of Education, under which he received training at the University of Hyderabad and Monash University in Australia.

Under his leadership as ranking team chairman since 2019, the university secured the top position among state agricultural universities in ICAR rankings and achieved significant improvement at the national level.
