A private school teacher from Lambgaon area in Tehri has accused some local residents of setting her house on fire, alleging that she was targeted because of her religion. The woman approached the district administration seeking justice. The victim, Robina, said she has been running a school in the Pratapnagar area for the past 15 years. She alleged that certain people in the village held resentment against her due to her Christian faith.
According to her complaint, on the night of April 24, a group attacked her house, threw out belongings and set them on fire. The incident reportedly destroyed valuables, important documents and household items accumulated over the years. She also alleged that the attackers threatened to kill her family during the incident. Despite filing a written complaint at Lambgaon police station, she claimed that police action has been slow and inadequate.
The teacher said that even though video evidence exists, no strict action has been taken so far, forcing her to approach the district headquarters. mShe submitted a memorandum to District Magistrate Nitika Khandelwal and SSP Shweta Chaubey, demanding a fair investigation and strict action against those involved.
The victim has also demanded compensation for the loss of her house and belongings, along with proper housing arrangements and security for her family. Taking cognizance of the matter, the District Magistrate has appointed SDM Tehri Kamlesh Mehta as the inquiry officer and directed a prompt and impartial investigation. Meanwhile, the administration has arranged temporary accommodation for the woman and her two children at the One Stop Center in New Tehri.

SSP Shweta Chaubey has also ordered an investigation into the incident. Members of Bhim Army were present when the victim submitted her complaint.
