The first snowfall of the season was recorded at Hemkund Sahib as weather conditions changed across Uttarakhand’s higher reaches. At the same time, several parts of Rudraprayag district have been receiving continuous heavy rain, while the Kedarnath Valley is also experiencing ongoing rainfall.

Dense fog has covered several hilly areas, reducing visibility and making travel more difficult. The combination of heavy rain and poor visibility could create problems for pilgrims and local residents travelling through mountainous routes.

The Rudraprayag district administration has appealed to pilgrims to remain cautious in view of the deteriorating weather conditions. Travellers have been advised to take extra precautions during the pilgrimage and exercise particular care while moving through areas considered vulnerable or risky.

With rain continuing and visibility remaining low in several areas, the administration has urged people travelling on mountain roads to consider the prevailing weather conditions before proceeding. Pilgrims have also been advised to remain especially alert near vulnerable locations during periods of bad weather.

The snowfall at Hemkund Sahib, along with rain and dense fog across parts of the higher reaches, marks a significant change in weather conditions as authorities continue to monitor the situation.
