Wasim Rizvi Acquitted in Haridwar Dharam Sansad Hate Speech Case

Wasim Rizvi, now known as Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi, has been acquitted in the 2021 Haridwar Dharam Sansad hate speech case. The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Haridwar, Avinash Kumar Srivastava, ruled on Saturday that the allegations lacked sufficient evidence and declared Rizvi not guilty.

The case stemmed from a controversial Dharam Sansad event held between December 17 and 19, 2021, where Rizvi and other speakers were accused of making objectionable remarks against the Quran and Muslims. Based on a complaint filed by Nadeem Ali, police had registered cases against several individuals, including Yati Narsinghanand Giri.

Rizvi was arrested on January 2, 2022, and later released on bail. During the trial, the prosecution presented 10 witnesses, but the court found the evidence inconclusive and ordered Rizvi’s acquittal on all charges.
