Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the under-construction Science Centre on Gaudi Road in Champawat, reviewing the progress of the project and ongoing development work. Officials informed that the construction, being carried out by the Public Works Department, has reached around 65 percent completion.
The Science Centre is being developed at an estimated cost of ₹55.52 crore and is aimed at promoting scientific learning and innovation among students in the region. During the inspection, the Chief Minister said the facility would provide a platform for young learners to explore science and contribute to national development.
He added that Champawat has the potential to emerge as a hub for science education in the coming years, with the centre expected to play a key role in nurturing talent and encouraging interest in research and technology.
While the project is progressing steadily, timely completion and effective utilisation of such infrastructure will be crucial. Past experiences with similar projects have shown that delays in operational readiness and lack of sustained academic engagement can limit their long-term impact.
