The breathtaking beauty of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Valley of Flowers, in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district will now reach people through specially designed postcards. The Department of Posts, Uttarakhand Circle, launched the unique initiative on Tuesday with the release of a special pictorial postcard featuring the iconic Valley of Flowers.

The postcard was unveiled by Shashi Shalini Kujur, Chief Postmaster General of the Uttarakhand Circle, during a special programme organised by the Jyotirmath Postal Division.

The initiative aims to showcase Uttarakhand’s rich natural heritage at both the national and international levels while promoting tourism in the region. Renowned for its spectacular alpine meadows, rare Himalayan flowers, and stunning landscapes, the Valley of Flowers attracts thousands of nature lovers and trekkers from across the world every year.

Officials said the special postcard will serve as a unique medium to introduce the valley’s unmatched natural beauty to a wider audience, encouraging more visitors to explore one of India’s most celebrated biodiversity hotspots.

The Valley of Flowers National Park is globally recognised for its rare alpine flora and pristine Himalayan ecosystem. Through this initiative, the Postal Department hopes to create greater awareness about the region’s ecological significance while supporting sustainable tourism in Uttarakhand.
