A controversy erupted in Haridwar after the Ex-Muslim Yatra, which began in Bijnor, concluded at Har Ki Pauri with religious rituals and public participation. The Ex-Muslim Yatra has drawn attention due to its message of religious conversion and the events that unfolded at the sacred site.

The yatra started from Ganga Barrage in Bijnor and reached Har Ki Pauri on Sunday. Participants performed Ganga snan and rituals at Brahmakund, and the group was welcomed with flower showers upon arrival. The procession was conducted under police security along the Haridwar–Najibabad highway and concluded in the afternoon.

According to organisers, the Ex-Muslim Yatra was aimed at spreading awareness among Muslim communities, with participants claiming they had left Islam and adopted Sanatan Dharma. The organiser, Imroz Alam, stated that the purpose of the yatra was to encourage others to return to Sanatan traditions.

However, the Ex-Muslim Yatra sparked controversy after videos surfaced showing two individuals wearing skull caps entering the Har Ki Pauri area. This led to strong objections from the Shri Ganga Sabha, which questioned how individuals in such attire were allowed entry despite restrictions on non-Hindus in the area.

Shri Ganga Sabha President Nitin Gautam raised concerns over the incident and demanded action, alleging that religious norms were violated. He also criticised those associated with the event and called for legal steps to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

In response, Ram Vishal Das defended himself against the allegations, stating that he had formally adopted Sanatan Dharma through proper initiation. He also claimed that the individuals seen in the video had already renounced Islam and were accepting Sanatan practices at the site.
