Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a cleanliness drive at Ballupur Chowk in Dehradun, joining ministers and MLAs in a public campaign to promote hygiene awareness. The programme was organised by the Municipal Corporation as part of a voluntary cleanliness initiative.
During the event, the Chief Minister himself took up a broom and actively joined the drive, sending a message to citizens about the importance of maintaining cleanliness. He said that such initiatives aim to encourage people to take responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhami emphasised that cleanliness cannot be ensured by government efforts alone. He stated that public participation is essential for achieving lasting results. According to him, cleanliness should become an integral part of daily life, and every citizen must contribute voluntarily.
The Chief Minister added that unless individuals take responsibility for their homes, neighbourhoods, and cities, sustainable change will remain difficult. He urged people to actively participate in similar initiatives and support efforts to maintain a clean environment.
He also appreciated the Municipal Corporation for organising the campaign and highlighted that such community-driven programmes play an important role in creating awareness. He stressed that regular cleanliness drives should be conducted to keep the message alive among the public.
