Indian and US Army personnel participating in the ongoing Yudh Abhyas 2026 in Auli, Uttarakhand, carried out joint training focused on counter-terrorism operations. The exercise included drills designed to familiarise troops with situations that may arise during real-world operations.
As part of the training, soldiers conducted building-clearance and room-intervention drills. The exercises involved practising procedures for entering a building, searching rooms and responding to potential threats in a controlled training environment.
The drills also involved assault teams, drones, robotic dogs, trained dogs and snipers. The participating personnel practised how different specialist teams and technologies can be coordinated during an operation.
During the exercise, US Army personnel also observed Indian soldiers and the equipment being used in the drills. They interacted with the participating troops and gained an understanding of the technology and methods being employed during the training.
Focus on coordination between specialised teams and technology
The joint training also provided personnel from both armies an opportunity to understand each other’s operational experiences and methods. Particular emphasis was placed on coordination between specialised teams and the use of modern technology during counter-terrorism operations.
The exercise is providing troops from both countries an opportunity to train together in simulated operational situations while improving coordination between personnel, specialist teams and technological systems.
