A grand three-day celebration of ‘Parakram Diwas’ will take place in Cuttack, Odisha, from January 23 to 25, 2025, to honor the 128th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The event, hosted at the historic Barabati Fort, will be inaugurated by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, with a special video address from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The celebration will feature an exhibition showcasing rare photographs, letters, and documents related to Netaji’s life. Using AR/VR technology, visitors will experience an immersive portrayal of his inspiring journey. Additionally, the event will include sculpture workshops, painting competitions, cultural performances, and screenings of films based on Netaji’s life.
‘Parakram Diwas’ was initiated in 2021 to commemorate Netaji’s birth anniversary. Over the years, it has been celebrated at iconic locations, including the unveiling of Netaji’s hologram statue at India Gate in 2022, dedicating 21 Andaman and Nicobar Islands to Param Vir Chakra awardees in 2023, and hosting the event at Delhi’s Red Fort in 2024.
This year, the celebration holds special significance as it will take place in Cuttack, Netaji’s birthplace. The event will include a flag-hoisting ceremony and tributes at his ancestral home, now a museum. The festivities aim to honor Netaji’s leadership, courage, and patriotism.
