The Uttarakhand government has issued strict directives against doctors practicing without valid registration. Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar announced that all Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) across the state have been instructed to take action against such practitioners.
According to the order, both government and private sector doctors must have either valid registration or renewed certification to continue practicing. Any doctor found working without compliance will face legal consequences under the National Medical Commission Act.
CMOs have been asked to compile a district-wise list of unregistered doctors. These names will be made public, and action will be taken accordingly. The Uttarakhand Medical Council has also been directed to forward the list of non-registered doctors to district officials.
The move is part of the state’s initiative to ensure transparency and accountability in health services.
