On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, a strong display of patriotism and unity was witnessed in the Mundoli region of Chamoli district, Uttarakhand. The programme was organised under the banner of the Mundoli Riders Club, where more than 150 students, youths, women and villagers participated together to mark the national festival.

The event began in a disciplined and enthusiastic atmosphere with tricolour decorations and patriotic songs resonating across the area. The national flag was hoisted by Kalem Singh Bisht, founder of the Mundoli Riders Club, an international ultra trail runner, former soldier and social worker. After the flag hoisting, all participants collectively sang the national anthem, followed by slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai.

Addressing the gathering, Kalem Singh Bisht extended Republic Day greetings and highlighted that the true spirit of the Republic lies not only in rights but also in fulfilling duties. He urged children and youth to focus on education, discipline, sports and social service to become responsible citizens. He stated that India’s future depends on healthy, disciplined and value-driven youth.

Students associated with the Mundoli Riders Club played a key role in the programme. They participated in an organised manner, raised patriotic slogans and demonstrated discipline, reflecting the regular training they receive in running, cycling, mountaineering, yoga, self-defence and value-based education. Their performance highlighted the potential of children from rural areas when provided with proper guidance.

Local villagers actively joined the celebrations, adding to the significance of the event. Elderly residents, youth and women stood together to salute the national flag. Many villagers said such programmes help instil patriotism among children and create positive energy within society.

Speakers also spoke about the importance of Republic Day, recalling the adoption of the Constitution on 26 January 1950 and its core values of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. The organisers reiterated that the objective of the Mundoli Riders Club goes beyond sports and fitness, focusing on the overall personality development of children in hilly regions.
