Pauri: District Magistrate Swati S Bhadauria conducted a surprise inspection of the Jal Sansthan office on Tuesday and reviewed office arrangements, complaint redressal systems, attendance of officials and employees, and the status of field work. During the inspection, the District Magistrate contacted a Junior Engineer (JE) working at the field level through a video call. The JE was found at home during duty hours, following which the DM expressed displeasure and directed officials to issue an adverse entry against him immediately.
Meanwhile, the Superintending Engineer (SE) was found absent from office. Taking the matter seriously, the District Magistrate ordered withholding of one day’s salary of the officer and sought an explanation. The DM also directed officials to prominently display the control room telephone number outside the office premises for public convenience.
During the inspection, the District Magistrate reviewed the dispatch room, establishment section, accounts section, computer section and drinking water complaint section. She sought details regarding complaint registration, disposal timelines, responsibility of employees and monitoring systems.
