SIT to Probe Appointments at Ghurdori College, CM Dhami Orders Investigation

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged irregularities in appointments and promotions at GB Pant Engineering College in Ghurdori, Pauri. During a high-level meeting on engineering institutions held at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the CM directed officials to constitute the SIT afresh to ensure a thorough investigation.

CM Dhami also expressed displeasure over the non-operational status of the Nanhi Pari Seemant Engineering College in Madhoora, Pithoragarh. He questioned the lack of academic activity in a building constructed at a cost of ₹15 crore and ordered an inquiry into whether the site was suitable for an engineering institute in the first place.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of deploying qualified faculty, establishing modern laboratories, and improving road connectivity in engineering colleges. He also raised concerns over low student enrollment and the slow pace of recruitment, calling for improved campus placement initiatives.
