Following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, Uttarakhand has been placed on high alert. Director General of Police Deepam Seth has directed all district police units to intensify checking at public places, tourist spots, and border areas. On Monday night, the DGP held discussions with police chiefs from all districts to assess the situation.
With 26 tourists killed in the attack, heightened security is being maintained across Uttarakhand’s border zones. Security personnel are using sniffer dogs and metal detectors for thorough searches at railway stations, bus terminals, and key tourist areas. The DGP confirmed that district-level updates are being taken hourly and the statewide checking drive will continue without interruption.
